CHS Dual Enrollment Requirements:
- For students taking academic classes: 3.0 academic unweighted at time of application
- For students taking vocational courses: 2.5 academic unweighted at time of application
The state legislature passed HB444 in May of 2020 that ushered in numerous changes to which students are eligible for Dual Enrollment, how many DE hours they can take, and a few other changes that will dictate many of our schedules. The most significant changes includes a cap of 30 hours for Dual Enrollment students as well as limiting participation to all 11th and 12th grade, while giving 10th grade students limited options to take DE classes.
CHS partners with several local colleges and universities to offer opportunities for our students to earn credit for approved college-level coursework for credit towards both high school and college graduation requirements. Students with available transportation may take advantage of in-person courses at local colleges and universities as either part-time or full-time students, depending on the student’s other graduation requirements. Some students may elect to take online dual enrollment courses as well.
