FBLA News

The Cartersville High School FBLA chapter went to the Region 8 RLC on January 15, 2025. Our students competed against all the Region 8 chapters, who are from counties such as Paulding, Polk, Cherokee, Harralson, Whitfield, and our very own Bartow. We had many students advance to State, and several that even placed 1st in their events. Cartersville also took the Region Sweepstakes award! After competing, students enjoyed a well deserved trip to Buc-ee’s. 

FBLA kicked off the year by competing in the Classic City, Athens Georgia, on November 19th – 20th, 2024. Athens hosts the Fall Leadership Conference every year, where members can compete in select events to earn their spot competing at the State Leadership Conference. Our first day included getting to Athens and settling in the Hyatt Place. In the evening, competitions started and everyone not competing went to Mellow Mushroom Pizza, where we met with some CHS FBLA alumni. Opening ceremony and statesman exam followed dinner. Members also could attend the Silent Disco before we halftime the convention center for our hotel. The next day members workshops, competed in a monopoly tournament, toured the University of Georgia before returning home. Our chapter advanced in the Monopoly tournament and many of our competitors won their competitions, so they will be advancing to state!
